Definitive Guide to Funding in Yorkshire

Two organisations supporting the healthcare sector in the region have joined forces to launch a definitive guide to funding in Yorkshire.

The teams behind the Investing in Health programme and Medilink Yorkshire & Humber have collaborated to create the guide which is a comprehensive list of ways of raising finance through grants, investment funds, business angels and debt financing.

The guide aims to help the region's healthcare companies navigate the often complicated pathway of funding, providing the latest information on available streams and how best to access them.

Giles Proffitt, Product Innovation & Operations Manager at Medilink Yorkshire and Humber, said: "The scope of assistance available to companies is vast and can appear daunting and time consuming. This funding guide is intended to enable companies to quickly select the sources of funding which fit the needs of their business, its management and shareholders."

Lisa Ward, manager of the Investing in Health programme, said: "In the current economic climate it is more important than ever to understand what funding is available out in the marketplace. Helping our clients secure investment won't just benefit them, it will also improve the economic prosperity of the region and help keep it at the forefront of the healthcare sector in the UK."

The Investing in Health programme forms part of Yorkshire Forward's ongoing strategy to support the development of the healthcare technologies industry in Yorkshire and Humber. The two organisations joined forces last year to enable regional businesses in the healthcare technology sector to tap into the investment expertise and advice of the Investing in Health programme alongside the extensive network of Medilink.
