Our principles of practice are summarised in our Customer Charter:

• BITECIC Ltd will be managed with the purpose of delivering high quality research, development and professional services to the healthcare, medical devices, biomaterials and tissue engineering industry, facilitating the access of industry customers to the expertise and facilities in partner universities.
• The management, structures and systems of the BITECIC Ltd will be established and developed to enable the organisation to operate to the highest standards of industrial best practice.
• BITECIC Ltd will operate to the highest standards of business confidentiality and professionalism in all its interactions with customers, prospective customers or partner Universities. Information disclosed to a representative of BITECIC Ltd by a customer or a potential customer will be treated as absolutely confidential between BITECIC Ltd and the disclosing party.
• BITECIC Ltd management will be responsible for ensuring that the liaison between all parties is effective and that the projects are properly conducted, managed on agreed timescales and reported to recognised quality standards.
• The selection and organisation of academic partners in any Collaboration Project by BITECIC Ltd will be based on the delivery of quality and value to customers. The relationship between BITECIC Ltd and collaborating universities in any Collaboration Project will be that of contractor and sub-contractor, respectively.
• Academic Collaboration Partners may choose to direct their own individual industry interactions through BITECIC Ltd entirely at their own discretion. BITECIC Ltd involvement will only be suitable if it can add value to any such collaboration.
• For BITECIC Ltd Collaboration Projects that are fully funded by an industrial customer, all intellectual property arising from the work will normally be assigned to that customer. In cases where the full project cost is shared, the share of the IP benefits will be established by negotiation, on a case-by-case basis, to reflect the relative level of investment in the project. Access to background IP in all cases will be at the discretion of the IP owner.
• BITECIC Ltd has agreed and adopted Industry-standard arrangements for indemnifying itself against any damages, disputes or injury.
